Health and Creativity – More Connected Than You Think!
I was first introduced to Lissa Rankin when I joined the budding International Encaustic Artists group back in 2005 or so.
Encaustic artists were few and far between back then, and encaustic artists who are also doctors, you know – have the left AND right brain going – well, I think I can count them on one hand. So, when she emailed me to join her new membership site, Owning Pink, I jumped in to support her. Besides that, her work is beautiful and I had a hunch that her new attempt would be a success as well.
Her wildly successful site, growing list of published books and now an inspiring TEDxWomen talk I had to pass it on to you. It’s about 18 min. long, but worth the time for the insight, encouragement and whole artist picture she paints. Take a look:
What are your thoughts on how health effects you as an artist and how it affects your creativity? Is what you show to others a whole, healthy, creative artist?

Thank you for helping spread the word Roxanne!
Yes, it’s so easy for us to get caught up in one stone (like creativity!) to the exclusion of our Physical Health, our Financial Health, or our Relationships. It’s all a balance. They’re all integrated. And when we care for the health of all of who we are, we thrive in every area.
So glad it resonated with you and bless you for sharing.
Big love
Lissa
